This system will create, for each player, their own narrative that goes beyond completing missions one after another, as well as unlocking new rewards. “We're developing a system called 'event director', which takes into account players' actions and their contexts to create small narrative events within the campaign map that will influence larger missions,” says Denault. It will not be possible, for example, to rewrite the history of World War II, but the designer explains that the idea is to keep close to historical events. “Our focus in the campaign is the liberation of Italy by the US and British allied forces, so we will give players complete freedom within these armies and in how they conduct this invasion,” says Narine. In addition to the Allied troops, Italian partisans participate in the combat in the Mediterranean.
